Change

Kenneth A. Young, who was appointed county administrator in September 2020, is no longer with Goochland County.

The matter will be discussed in closed session by the Board of Supervisors at its Tuesday, July 6 meeting.

Curious to see how much money the Board of Supervisors blows on the next search firm contract. That said, it is high time to promote from within, which is what they should have done last year!

Or just go hire the person they should have. It was pretty obvious to anyone paying attention to the County.

This is sad. The Supervisors need to ask Mr. Stamey to return and not waste any more money on a search firm. That would make the most sense.

This should not be a drawn out process that needs to spend county tax dollars or time. Mr. Stamey should have been hired the last time around. Just hope the pride of the Board members won't get in the way of making a sound decision and offering Mr. Stamey the job. If he will accept the job at this point is another matter all together. Please stop looking to Northern VA for "talent", we've got plenty right here.

The board should ask Mr Stamey to return. He capably led the county in it's transition, even in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. All this while the county did not miss a beat, even prospered. The county deserves that kind of leadership.

If this is true, this is on the shoulders of our elected officials. Goochland has lost dedicated talent and more importantly time in this Northern Virginia experiment. Bring that talent back. Time to make decisions right for Goochland and stop the bleeding for pete sake. Do what you were elected to do and listen to your community.
