On May 15, parts of Virginia, including Goochland
County, emerged from the Covid 19 lockdown under Phase I guidelines. It’s too
early to know if this will result in a spike of cases—which will rise in any
event due to more testing—no change, or a continuing decrease.
Please support our local businesses as you
are able. Some restaurants are reopening, and others continue to offer delicious
carry out food. If you choose to wear a mask, consider buying them from Goochland
Tees https://www.goochlandtees.com/
in Oilville. You can cover your face, promote your brand, and supports a fine
local business.
GOMM bought these spiffy masks from Goochland Tees. |
Bills for Goochland County real estate and personal
property taxes have been mailed. The due date remans June 5, but the
supervisors delayed imposition of interest and late payment penalties to July 5—actually
July 6 because the 5th is a Sunday.

chief executive officer.
Upcoming government meetings, including the Economic Development Authority on May 20; the supervisors
on June 2; and the planning commission on June 4, will be held electronically.

cases of Covid 19 have been identified in Goochland. At least 53 of
those cases and one death are associated with the Virginia Correctional Center
for Women.
Visit https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-data-insights/#ZIP-code
to see how your zip code has been affected. Remember that the total number of
cases and deaths is cumulative since early March. Of the 1,009 deaths reported
by the Virginia Department of Health on May 17, 617 are associated with “outbreaks”
in long term health care facilities and other congregate settings.

Just tried to make an appointment with Commissioner of the Revenue. They ARE NOT taking appointments. They say they will talk to you outside on the steps out front... I reckon weather permitting.
